Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Madurai wing, will continue its protest against Madurai Corporation’s decision to allot 1.5 acres of land near the Periyar Bus Stand to a missionary for construction of a church, stated BJP State general secretary Pon Radhakrishnan, here, on Sunday.

Radhakrishnan has stated in a press release that the move of the Corporation shows that the Mayor has no control over administration. ‘‘The Government should immediately issue orders to reclaim the land and use it for some public welfare schemes like construction of Government staff quarters or houses for the Low Income Group.’’
