The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today alleged that conversion of Hindus has increased during the rule of United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

VHP Central Secretary Mohan Joshi, who is here to participate in three-day Parishad meeting beginning tomorrow, told reporters here today that conversion activities had risen in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and north-eastern states.

He alleged conversion had explicit or implicit support of governments in these states and about 3,000 foreign priests on business and tourist Visas were engaged in converting people.

Mr Joshi said a nationwide campaign will be launched to spread awareness about these facts on March 30.

He added that VHP international general secretary Praveen Togadia will take part in the meeting. A Yuva Shakti Sammelan Samaroh will be organised on March 19.
