Hollywood star Shirley Maclaine has blasted the environmental and foreign policies of the Bush administration, saying that Bush's Christian crusade had turned out to be a big distaster.

Despite being an American, the 71-year-old has stated that she is ashamed of her own country for its imperialistic attitudes, whereby it's trying to sabotage the interests of other nations in order to extend its own authority.

"Yeah (I do feel American), but an American that is the result of the founding fathers' wish. I'm very ashamed of being in this country and what we're doing, " Femalefirst quoted the "Terms Of Endearment" star as saying.

"Our imperialistic attitudes, our desecration of the environment, the whole Christian crusading that the Bush administration is doing, the marketing economy... it's a freakin' disaster!" she added.
