After recent death sentence of a convict in west Tripura's Jarulbachai massacre in 1997, one more prime accused and the NLFT leader allegedly involved in the case, was arrseted from Sreenagar area under sadar subdivison of west district.
Police today said NLFT rebel Mangal Debbarma, arrested yesterday, was named accused on February 11,1997 massacre of non-tribals at Jarulbachai under Takarjala police station, in which fifteen people, mostly women and children were killed.
Debbarma, who was remanded 14 days police custody by a court, was one of the prime accused alongwith Ashok Debbarma alias Achai, who was convicted recently in the Jarulbachai case.
The police chargesheeted 14 people in the Jarulbachai massacre.
Twelve others were still absconding.
On November 10, Additional District and Session judge court sentenced the Ashok to death convicting him in the massacre.
