The Conversion Agenda

"Freedom to convert" is counterproductive as a generalized doctrine. It fails to come to terms with the complex interrelationships between self and society that make the concept of individual choice meaningful. Hence, religious conversion undermines, and in extremes would dissolve, that individual autonomy and human freedom.

Shiv Sena threatens to gherao Hinn's programme

BANGALORE, DHNS:

The Shiv Sena has said that it has formed suicide squads to prevent Evangelist Benny Hinn from preaching during the 'Festival of Blessing' scheduled to be held in Jakkur Airfield, Bangalore from January 21 to 23.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Thursday, Shiv Sena State President Subramanya Raju said that the Shiv Sena has formed suicide squads and will forcefully prevent Evangelist Benny Hinn from preaching on the ocassion.

He alleged that Mr Benny Hinn was a con man who was preaching Christianity and claimed spiritual healing powers for converting people to Christianity. Mr Raju threatened that the Shiv Sena activists would gherao the venue and added that the Christian community in the west had also termed Mr Benny Hinn as a con man.

He urged the State to take steps to prevent Mr Hinn from preaching in Bangalore.
