The Conversion Agenda

"Freedom to convert" is counterproductive as a generalized doctrine. It fails to come to terms with the complex interrelationships between self and society that make the concept of individual choice meaningful. Hence, religious conversion undermines, and in extremes would dissolve, that individual autonomy and human freedom.

RSS meet may discuss evangelism at Tirumala

Tirupati, Aug 11 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) meeting to be held here on August 20 is expected to discuss the issue of evangelism at Tirumala, sources said.

To be attended by its top leaders from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh besides mutt heads, the meeting will discuss various issues, including proselytisation at Tirumala.

Meanwhile,local leaders led by Tirupati Congress MLA M Venkataramana will organise an all-party meeting today to mobilise support for a united struggle against the RSS and its sister organisations for 'disinformation campaign over religious propagation.' Meanwhile, the United Pastors Welfare Association yesterday took out a 'peace rally' in the temple town in protest against the 'increasing attacks on Christians' in recent times in and around Tirupati.
