VHP working president Ashok Singhal on Wednesday alleged that the arrest of Kanchi seers in the Sankararaman murder case had facilitated mass conversions by Christian missionaries in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Chennai, Singhal said the acharyas, who were the most respected saints in the country, were running several trusts and projects that practically put an end to the conversion programme of the Christians.

By arresting the seers in the Sankararman murder case and putting hindrances to their projects, the Christians were enabled to undertake more such programmes in the country, he alleged.
