The Conversion Agenda

"Freedom to convert" is counterproductive as a generalized doctrine. It fails to come to terms with the complex interrelationships between self and society that make the concept of individual choice meaningful. Hence, religious conversion undermines, and in extremes would dissolve, that individual autonomy and human freedom.

Non Christian beliefs are responsible for degradation of Society - Regional Minister, Ghana

"There is upsurge of violence, immorality, deceit and sheer wickedness. These things are happening because the gospel of salvation which liberates people from the bondage of sin has not gone far enough", stressed Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo. His message was delivered on the occasion of the four-day synod themed "Evangelism, The Main Business of the Church".

Mr Boafo blamed the church for failing to send the word to the people, especially the rural majority. "The churches, unfortunately are concentrated in the cities and urban centres at the expense of the rural communities.

He challenged the Methodist church and other Christian groups to intensify their evangelism programme until the entire nation had been won for Christ.

Non-christians, particularly native tribal religions are worried about their survival because of 'Government sponsored Evangelism'
