The Conversion Agenda

"Freedom to convert" is counterproductive as a generalized doctrine. It fails to come to terms with the complex interrelationships between self and society that make the concept of individual choice meaningful. Hence, religious conversion undermines, and in extremes would dissolve, that individual autonomy and human freedom.

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know you are doing no right
When you convert people with might

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know all religions lead to same God
Then why you consider only yours as good

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know there are many ways to God
Then why you want only yours to succeed

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know there are many books of God
Then why you say only yours is true

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know not all people sin
Then why you consider all as sinners

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You say you want to do only charity
Then why you want to enforce uniformity

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You only want the dying to get water
Then why kill them in baptism water

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You want only to preach about love
Then let us love but do not convert

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know that each nation has culture
Then why you want yours to prevail

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You know I have my own beliefs
Then why you want to impose your beliefs

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
You spoiled the cradle of mankind
But do not destroy the cradle of civilisation

Oh Missionary, please don’t convert me
Let thousand flowers bloom everywhere
And let them be of different colours
A bouquet looks divine in multiple colours
Monochromatic is sterile and satanic
